Paul Lambert: 'Aston Villa performance wasn't good enough'

Paul Lambert slams his Aston Villa players after they failed to to turn up against West Ham United.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has slammed his players for their below-par performance in the defeat to West Ham United at Villa Park.

Two Kevin Nolan goals condemned the Villans to their second successive defeat, leaving them just four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

"It's not good enough going two goals down and then starting to do something." Lambert told talkSPORT after the game.

"Marc Alrbrighton came on and gave us a major lift and hit the post. Christian Benteke hit the bar but still, in my view, it was not good enough."

Villa return to league action on Tuesday night with a trip to Cardiff City.
