MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has expressed his desire to sign Aston Villa winger Samir Carruthers.
The 21-year-old was sent out on loan to the League One outfit last season, but his stint with Robinson's side was cut short because of injury.
However, following his return to fitness, Robinson has admitted that he would like to re-sign the Republic of Ireland international on a permanent basis.
"Samir is someone I think is a top, top player. I'm not going to rule it out, but I'm not going to tell you I've done a deal either. He's someone I'd love to bring to the club on a permanent deal. I know he was here, but nothing is done. I've got most of the players I want now though. We'll have to wait and see," Robinson told reporters.
Carruthers, who joined Villa as a trainee in 2009, has made three Premier League appearances.
