Atletico Madrid cannot afford to dwell on last season's Champions League heartbreak against Real Madrid, according to Atleti coach Diego Simeone.
Simeone's side suffered a 4-1 extra-time defeat to their bitter city rivals in last year's final as the Blancos clinched an elusive 10th Champions League title.
Atletico have the chance to put things right when they welcome Carlo Ancelotti's men in a first-leg quarter-final tomorrow, but the Argentine says that his charges must not let the revenge element consume them.
"[Comparisons to last season's final] is normal, for both sides," he told a press conference.
"[But] we need to focus on what is going to happen tomorrow. What happened in the past is over. We have a great chance to do something important tomorrow."
Both sides will do it again in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.
