Gabi calls for focus

Atletico Madrid captain insists that his side still have work to do if they are to win La Liga this season.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has called on his side to remain focused in their final three league games of the season.

Should the capital outfit collect six points from their next two games, they would be crowned La Liga champions before travelling to Barcelona on the final weekend of the season.

However, the Spanish midfielder has insisted that there is still much work to do.

"We have three games left to win two and become champions. It is very difficult but we will try. The label of is said off the pitch, we are where we are because we deserved it. Crowning us champions before we rightfully are could be bad for everyone," he told reporters.

"We must acknowledge the support of the fans. We're on cloud nine and we don't want to come down. This team has a level of conviction that is very rarely seen."

Atletico have not won La Liga in close to 20 years.
