Nolito: 'Staying up still Celta Vigo's target'

Celta Vigo forward Nolito says that remaining in La Liga is still the club's main goal this season.

Celta Vigo forward Nolito has insisted that surviving relegation is still his side's main target in La Liga this season.

The Spanish outfit beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 on Sunday evening, while they have also already won at Barcelona this term.

However, an inconsistent season has left the club in ninth position in the table on 28 points.

"This is football. There are ups and downs throughout the season. You can't be 40 games at the same level. There are four months of the season left and we want to get to 40 points early, which is our goal, to ensure our safety," the Spanish striker told AS.

Celta are currently nine points outside of the relegation zone, but some 13 points off the top six.
