Stefan Savic: 'I need time to adapt'

New Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic says that he will need to be given time to adapt to life in Madrid.

Stefan Savic has insisted that he will need to be given time to adapt to his new surroundings at Atletico Madrid.

The Montenegro international joined the Spanish outfit from Fiorentina this summer, but has not yet featured for his new club.

The centre-back has admitted that it will take him time to settle in Madrid, but says that he is 'up for the challenge'.

"I still need time to adapt to my new team and league, but I think [I'll have adapted] soon," Savic is quoted by AS.

"All great teams have a lot of competition and I'm up for the challenge. I think I can play an important role here and we'll all work together for the good of Atletico. I'm Stefan Savic and here to defend the colours of Atletico, one of the biggest clubs in Europe."

Savic is currently away on international duty with his country.
