Atletico Madrid could reportedly announce the signing of Carlos Tevez from Italian champions Juventus as early as this week.
The 31-year-old helped Juve win a domestic double during the 2014-15 campaign, but his team fell just short of Barcelona in the Champions League.
It is widely thought that Tevez will return to Argentina next summer, but Atletico boss Diego Simeone is said to be hopeful of convincing the forward to spend one more season in Europe.
According to AS, Simeone has been in personal contact with Tevez and a deal between all parties is close to completion.
Tevez scored 29 goals in 47 games for Juve last season.
