Barcelona have announced that goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is a fitness doubt for their upcoming games after picking up an injury in training.
The 29-year-old provides backup to Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barca goal, seeing him restricted to just two La Liga outings since joining from Ajax in 2016.
Cillessen's hopes of playing time will be further hampered by the damage suffered in Wednesday's training session, which is expected to rule him out of Saturday's trip to Real Valladolid at the very least.
A club statement read: "Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has picked up a sprain to an intercostal muscle on his left side. His availability for the upcoming fixtures will depend on his recovery from the injury."
Manchester City have been tipped to move for Cillessen on an emergency loan deal after losing Claudio Bravo to a long-term injury.
