Adriano confirms new Barcelona deal

Barcelona defender Adriano reveals that he has signed a new contract with Luis Enrique's side, which will run until the summer of 2017.

Brazilian full-back Adriano has revealed that he has signed a new contract with Barcelona following a summer of speculation.

The experienced defender was reportedly close to joining Roma in the last transfer window, but ultimately decided to remain at Camp Nou.

Now the 31-year-old has confirmed that he has extended his contract with the Spanish giants, with his new deal due to run until 2017.

"Yes, I have renewed my contract. I am a Barca player until June 30, 2017. Whether or not there's an escape clause is private," Adriano told Mundo Deportivo.

"To this day I don't think about leaving or not, only to be 100% and have the coach's confidence. Otherwise I don't care, I don't worry about my future."

Adriano has only started two league games for Barcelona this season.
