Agent plays down Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona link

Rennes teenager Ousmane Dembele will remain with his French club until the end of the 2016-17 season, according to the winger's agent Badou Sambague.

The agent of Rennes teenager Ousmane Dembele has played down suggestions that his client could join Barcelona this summer.

The 18-year-old, who has scored nine times for his French club this season, has been strongly linked with a move to a number of European clubs, with Barcelona believed to lead the race.

Dembele's representative Badou Sambague, however, has revealed that the plan is for his client to remain at Rennes until the completion of the 2016-17 season.

"We want him to follow a logical progression and we intend for him to be at Rennes for a season and a half. After that, we'll see what happens according to his evolution," Sambague told L'Equipe.

Dembele hit a hat-trick against Nantes in Ligue 1 at the weekend.
