Andres Iniesta dismisses chances of Barcelona return

Club legend Andres Iniesta dismisses speculation linking him with a return to Barcelona during the next transfer window.

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has dismissed suggestions that he may return to Camp Nou later in 2020.

After a legendary career with the Catalan giants, Iniesta made the switch to Japan in 2018 to link up with Vissel Kobe.

As a result of increasing tension at the Spanish outfit, it has been claimed that an effort will be made to re-sign the playmaker.

However, the World Cup winner, who turns 36 years of age next month, intends to see out his contract at his current club.

Speaking to Onda Cero, Iniesta said: "I still want to continue playing football and maybe these days relaxing at home can prolong my career".

"I have a contract until 2021 and this year I am quite motivated with the desire to play on the football pitch again and feel those moments with the ball and the grass."

Iniesta made a total of 674 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions.
