Barcelona president Joan Laporta says that the club are intending to sign on-loan attacker Adama Traore on a permanent deal.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said that the club are intending to sign Adama Traore on a permanent deal during this summer's transfer window.

The Spain international secured a return to Camp Nou in the latter stages of the January market, re-joining the Catalan outfit on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Barcelona have the chance to sign the attacker on a permanent deal this summer, and a recent report claimed that the club wanted him back on a long-term basis.

Laporta has now said that the La Liga giants are planning "to trigger that clause", which is believed to be worth in the region of €30m (£25m).

"We've an option to buy clause included into Adama Traore deal with Wolves and our plan is to trigger that clause. It's on him - he made a great effort [on salary] to play here at Barca," Laporta told reporters.

Traore previously played for Barcelona between 2004 and 2015 but only represented their first team on four occasions before leaving for Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old could make his second debut for the Catalan giants in Sunday's La Liga contest with Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou.
