Guillem Balague: 'Neymar may consider move away from Barcelona in next 12 months'

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says that Neymar may consider leaving Barcelona within the next 12 months.

Neymar may consider leaving Barcelona within the next 12 months, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The Brazil international forward recently confirmed that he held discussions with Manchester United over a potential summer move, and Balague is certain that there will be further transfer drama as Barca look to tie Neymar down with a new contract.

"It is going to be the saga of the next 12 months or more - his new contract with Barcelona," he told Sky Sports readers in a Q&A.

"FCB want him to sign it now, he is not in a rush. Why? I think he feels he will not be the best player in the world while at Barcelona, with Messi leading the team. So he has to decide if he stays and waits for Messi to move on, or goes to a team that will build around him."

Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos in May 2013 for a fee of €57.1m (£42.1m) and has since scored 57 goals in 97 appearances.
