Midfielder Arturo Vidal is reportedly in line to earn more first-team opportunities at Barcelona.
Since moving to Camp Nou last summer, Vidal has largely been used on a rotational basis, making a total of 32 starts and 31 substitute outings in all competitions.
The 32-year-old's status in the squad has resulted in speculation regarding his future, at a time when the Catalan giants are contemplating player sales.
However, according to Marca, Vidal has moved up Ernesto Valverde's pecking order, which should lead to more starts in the coming months.
The Chile international made just his third appearance in the first XI this season as Barcelona suffered a 3-1 defeat at Levante on Saturday afternoon.
The former Juventus man has just over 18 months remaining on his contract at the La Liga leaders.
