Tom Cairney injury 'not serious', could feature for Blackburn Rovers this weekend

Tom Cairney's ankle injury is reportedly not serious and he could feature for Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

Tom Cairney could reportedly feature for Blackburn Rovers this weekend despite leaving Saturday's game at Reading with a protective boot.

The midfielder hobbled off on the hour mark at the Madejski Stadium with an apparent ankle problem.

According to BBC Sport, a scan has showed no long-term damage and Cairney could now feature in Saturday's Lancashire derby at Bolton Wanderers.

The 23-year-old, who joined Rovers permanently in January from Hull City, has appeared in all but one league game for the club this season.
