Steve Kean insists that Blackburn can bounce back from their relegation from the Premier League.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has insisted that the club can bounce back from their relegation heartbreak.

The Ewood Park outfit were condemned to Championship football next season following their 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic tonight.

Despite recurring fan protests over his management, Kean believes that he is the right man to lead Blackburn in their quest to return to the top flight at the first attempt.

"We are devastated. The players are numb. To not take this to the last game of the season is massively disappointing," he said.

"If we can keep the majority of the squad together and add a little bit of experience then I am confident we can bounce back.

"What have to do is regroup as West Ham have done. We will be back to fight another day."

Further protests were held after the game, with Rovers supporters calling for Kean to be removed as manager.
