Preview: Blackburn Rovers vs. Burnley

Sports Mole previews the Championship encounter between Blackburn Rovers and Burnley.

Blackburn Rovers go into the Lancashire derby with Burnley on the back of a 4-0 defeat to fellow local rivals Bolton Wanderers.

Rovers' recent good form came to an abrupt halt at the Reebok Stadium, but Gary Bowyer's side will be eager to restore local pride against promotion-chasing Burnley.

Bowyer could include Luke Varney from the start at Ewood Park after he was introduced as a half-time substitute last weekend.

Burnley continue to look strong at the top of the Championship standings, with last week's 2-0 win over Derby County taking them five points clear in second place.

Boss Sean Dyche is unlikely to make many alterations for the short trip to Rovers, but Ross Wallace is in contention to earn a recall in midfield.

Burnley: DWWDWW

Possible starting lineups

Blackburn Rovers: Robinson; Henley, Spurr, Lowe, Kilgallon; Varney, Conway, Williamson, Olsson; Gestede, Rhodes

Burnley: Heaton; Trippier, Mee, Duff, Shackell; Marney, Arfield, Jones, Wallace; Ings, Vokes

Sports Mole says: 1-1
