Paul Lambert will step down as Blackburn Rovers boss at the end of the season.
The 46-year-old took control of the Championship outfit in November following the sacking of Gary Bowyer.
He became Blackburn's seventh permanent manager in seven years, but his contract included a clause whereby the former Aston Villa manager could be released from his deal after the final league game of the season.
Lambert has activated that clause and will seek pastures new once the 2015-16 Championship campaign comes to an end.
The Scot has won 10 of his 31 league games in charge of Rovers, who currently sit 18th in the table.
