Half-Time Report: Bolton Wanderers take two-goal derby lead over Blackburn Rovers

Bolton take a 2-0 half-time lead over Blackburn in the Lancashire derby thanks to goals from Medo and Joe Mason in the opening 45 minutes at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the Lancashire derby with Blackburn Rovers thanks to first-half goals from Medo and Joe Mason.

The Trotters have won just three Championship games at the Reebok Stadium this season, but seem poised to improve that record with victory over their local rivals.

After Paul Robinson had made good early saves from Mason and Neil Danns, Blackburn had a clearer sight of goal as Jordan Rhodes went through one on one only to be denied by Adam Bogdan.

Bolton soon raced up the other end to make Rhodes pay, as Danns cut inside Adam Henley on the left to cross for Medo to head past Robinson and give Wanderers a 23rd-minute advantage.

Danns was also involved in Bolton's second in stoppage time, as his miscued shot fell kindly to Mason, who poked into the bottom corner for his second goal in his latest loan spell with Dougie Freedman's side.
