Nuri Sahin: 'We blame ourselves for Anderlecht draw'

Nuri Sahin believes that Borussia Dortmund must blame themselves for not beating Anderlecht in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin has admitted that his teammates only have themselves to blame for drawing their final Champions League group game with Anderlecht.

The Bundesliga outfit finished top of Group D ahead of Arsenal, but let a late lead slip when Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised for the Belgian club.

However, Sahin has suggested that Borussia missed a great opportunity to win.

He is quoted by UEFA.com as saying: "Of course we are happy, but if we would have been more clever we would have won this match, because Anderlecht didn't look as if they really wanted to score a goal. We have to blame ourselves for this draw."

Borussia return to domestic action at the weekend with a trip to face Hertha Berlin, looking to improve on their lowly 14th position in the table.
