Bournemouth looking to set new club top-flight winning record against Brighton

Bournemouth will have the chance to set a new club record when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Vitality Stadium for Saturday's Premier League contest.

Bournemouth will have the opportunity to set a new club record when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion in Saturday's Premier League contest.

The Cherries experienced a frustrating result in their final game before the international break, giving up a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

While that result ended a three-game unbeaten run, Bournemouth will still be satisfied with their overall work this season, having won four, drawn three and lost four of their 11 Premier League matches.

As a result of that record, Bournemouth are sitting in 12th place in the Premier League table with four points separating them from the top four.

Bournemouth targeting history against Brighton

Bournemouth are now preparing for the visit of fellow South Coast side Brighton, with the hosts on the brink of creating a piece of club history.

The Cherries have the chance to record a fourth consecutive top-flight victory, which would set a new club record for the most successive wins in the Premier League.

Andoni Iraola's side kicked off their three-game winning home run with a 3-1 victory over Southampton at the end of September.

Bournemouth went on to claim two surprise home victories, beating 10-man Arsenal 2-1 before edging out Manchester City by a 2-1 scoreline in their most recent outing at the Vitality Stadium.

Iraola set to reach milestone

No matter the result, Iraola will reach a significant milestone when he takes charge of Saturday's clash with the Seagulls.

The former Rayo Vallecano boss will oversee his 50th game as Bournemouth head coach since being appointed in the summer of 2023.

Iraola gave a positive squad update ahead of his 50th game in charge, confirming there are no fresh injury concerns following the recent international window.

"Everyone that has gone with their national team is available," Iraola told reporters in Friday's pre-match press conference.

"Everyone has come back healthy and, obviously, some of them have played more minutes; they're going to be more tired but that's something expected. But there are no new injuries from that side, no."

While there are no new injury concerns, Bournemouth remain without the services of Julian Araujo, Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra.

Meanwhile, Scotland international Ryan Christie will serve a one-match ban for an accumulation of yellow cards.
