Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill targets League One title

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill says that he is keen to wrap up the League One title now that his side has secured promotion.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill has said that he is pleased his side has secured promotion to the Championship, but now has his eye on the League One title.

The Robins booked their place in the second tier of English football for next term with a resounding 6-0 win away to Bradford City, a result that extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches.

"Obviously, we are pleased to win promotion and now we want to go on and win the title," Cotterill told reporters.

"We have played open and expansive football all season and there is a good tempo to our play. We have taken risks and sometimes we have been caught, but we have played good football and entertained crowds throughout the country.

"We don't go anywhere just to get a point and to change our DNA now - tonight - would have been dangerous. We have got a really united bunch of players and we have enjoyed the celebrations on the pitch tonight, but our main aim this season has been to win the League One title."

The win leaves City 10 points clear of second-placed Preston North End in the table, although the Lancashire outfit have a match in hand.
