Bristol City came from behind to claim what could prove to be a crucial three points against fellow strugglers Coventry City at Ashton Gate this afternoon.
Visiting Coventry held the lead going into the break when Jonathan Stead turned the ball into his own net with 33 minutes played.
However, Stead atoned for his earlier error when he restored parity in the 47th minute.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until Yannick Bolasie converted a cross from substitute Brett Pitman with eight minutes remaining.
Pitman was then handed his marching orders for a late challenge on Jordan Clarke in the 86th minute.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, City made sure of the points in stoppage time when Chris Wood scored from inside the area.
