Burnley manager Sean Dyche has reportedly identified Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson to fill his void up front.
The Clarets lost the services of Charlie Austin, who scored 45 goals in 90 outings, to Queens Park Rangers earlier this week.
Having assessed a number of options, Dyche has decided upon 29-year-old Donaldson, who scored 24 goals in all competitions last season, according to The People.
Southampton's Billy Sharp and Bolton Wanderers centre-forward Marvin Sordell are also believed to be under consideration by Dyche.
