Michael Keane 'has no regrets' over failed Leicester City move

Burnley centre-back Michael Keane insists that he is "really happy" at Turf Moor and does not regret missing the chance to join Leicester City in the summer.

Michael Keane has insisted that he is "really happy" at Burnley and does not regret missing out on the chance to join Premier League champions Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Keane, who is also currently being strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, is believed to have been the subject of interest from Leicester in the summer, but Burnley kept hold of the former Manchester United centre-back.

The 23-year-old has claimed that it is "flattering" to be linked with a move to a Champions League club, but is not looking to leave Burnley, whom he joined from Man United in 2015.

"It's flattering when teams like that come in, but I am really happy here. I won't be looking at them in the Champions League thinking that it could have been me, because I tend to think what will be, will be," Keane told The Telegraph.

"Hopefully at some time in the future I will get to that level anyway. Leicester have done brilliant and I will be supporting them because I was there on loan anyway but I'm not disappointed I am not there."

Keane has scored once in six Premier League appearances for newly-promoted Burnley this season.
