Burnley have reportedly received a formal enquiry from Southampton over the availability of striker Danny Ings.
According to the Daily Mail, the Saints are ready to start their rebuilding process with the England Under-21 international, who will see his contract expire at the end of next season.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is said to be demanding £8m for Ings, which fits Southampton's model of recruiting young and ambitious English players.
The South Coast club have already lost Rickie Lambert to Liverpool, and Adam Lallana looks as though he could follow Lambert to Anfield in the coming days.
Ings scored 26 goals as Burnley were promoted to the Premier League last season.
