Celtic have not made the Europa League group stage after losing 3-1 to FC Sion in Switzerland.
Having drawn 0-0 last week, Celtic's night got off to the worse possible start when, inside the first minute, defender Daniel Majstorovic was sent off for a foul in the area, with Pascal Feinduono converting the resulting penalty.
Sion doubled their lead after the hour when Feinduono again found the net by hitting home the rebound of his own free kick.
Neil Lennon's side pulled one back on 78 minutes when Charlie Mulgrew scored from a free kick of his own, but the tie was put beyond the Bhoys' reach when Giovanni Sio chipped keeper Fraser Forster in the final 10 minutes.
