Celtic manager Neill Lennon is delighted with James Forrest after the winger scored a late goal against Aberdeen to seal a 2-0 victory.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised the impact of substitute James Forrest after today's Scottish Premiership victory over Aberdeen.

The winger came on with Celtic holding onto a narrow lead thanks to a first-half goal from Kris Commons and made sure of victory with a strike three minutes from time.

"He's had an ankle problem but we felt with the game being stretched James Forrest would exploit the gaps and he did," he told BT Sport.

"He was racked with injuries last season, but he's such an important player to us."

Celtic are next in action when they travel to Kazakhstan to face Shakhter Karagandy in the Champions League on 20 August.
