Hodgson to snub Lampard?

Frank Lampard will reportedly be dropped from Roy Hodgson's England starting XI against France in favour of a Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker partnership.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is reportedly expected to be demoted to the bench for England's opening group game against France at Euro 2012 next month.

The 33-year-old along with Blues teammates John Terry and Ashley Cole will join up with the Three Lions this week after being given an extended break following their Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

It is understood that Hodgson has opted to use skipper Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker in midfield for the national side's opening fixture, despite Lampard's positive season with Chelsea, according to the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, England will discover if Gareth Barry will be fit enough to travel to Poland and Ukraine today as the Manchester City midfielder is due to have a scan on his groin.
