Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits that he is determined to win this weekend's FA Cup final after missing the 2012 triumph over Liverpool.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted that he has extra motivation to win this Saturday's FA Cup final after missing the 2012 showdown at Wembley.

The England international picked up a winners' medal, but a hamstring injury prevented him from playing in the Blues' 2-1 win over Liverpool.

As well as the domestic trophy, Cahill has won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Europa League and the League Cup since joining the club from Bolton Wanderers in 2012.

"I have been fortunate enough to have all the trophies in England but it is the one I have wanted to do again for the obvious reason I would have loved to have played in the final," Cahill told Chelsea's official website.

"One hundred per cent the FA Cup means a lot to me. I don't know why people talk about it as if the shine has gone off it.

"For me it is the big cup competition in England and it always has been since I have been a kid, the one that everyone wants to get to and everyone wants to win, the one everyone watches as a kid so there is no shine off it for me. It is still huge."

Antonio Conte's side will take on London rivals Arsenal in the final.
