Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas threatens to drop striker Fernando Torres if he does not start scoring goals.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has threatened to drop Fernando Torres if he does not start scoring goals.

The £50m striker has netted once in 21 games for the Blues since his move from Liverpool, and the Portuguese coach says he will leave him out should his drought compromise the team.

"He didn't lose his talent talent because he's played 21 games and only scored one goal. The talent is there and the question is regaining confidence.

"That comes from training and from time and finding the back of the net, so we have to persist.

"But it can't compromise the team. The moment it compromises the team it has to come to an end."

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League and travel to Sunderland on Saturday.
