Cesar Azpilicueta: 'Chelsea have mental edge'

Cesar Azpilicueta believes that Chelsea's mental edge can help them to claim the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has expressed his belief that the team's mental edge can help them to claim the Premier League title this season.

Jose Mourinho's side currently sit four points clear at the top of the table following their 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Azpilicueta says that Chelsea's acquisitions during the summer have given them an advantage over their title rivals.

"I think we are stronger mentally now," FourFourTwo quotes him as saying. "The players who came have given us another dimension as well.

"I think you saw that [against Liverpool]. When the team was losing we were still really strong mentally.

"The whole squad know we have to fight together. Some players have more talent, some score goals, and sometimes we have to defend for them - but the main thing is we do it all as a team."

Chelsea return to action against West Bromwich Albion on November 22.
