The FA reportedly allow John Terry to stay as England captain despite possible prosecution over alleged racist remarks.

The Football Association have reportedly offered their support to Chelsea and England captain John Terry as he faces potential prosecution over accusations of racism.

The Crown Prosecution Service revealed that Scotland Yard passed on the file in relation to John Terry's alleged racial slur towards Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand.

Despite the controversy surrounding the 30-year-old, the football governing body are believed to have assured the defender that he will remain the Three Lions captain until a decision is made, according to the Daily Star.

The CPS will now decide whether there is enough evidence to charge Terry, following the conclusion of the police investigation.

The centre-back has maintained his innocence since the allegations surfaced after the West London derby in October.
