Wesley Fofana has been handed an immediate Chelsea debut as Thomas Tuchel makes a number of changes for the Premier League fixture with West Ham United.
The Frenchman only completed his switch from Leicester City on Wednesday, but the big-money arrival features in a back three alongside Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The inclusion of Fofana is one of five alterations made by Tuchel with Reece James and Conor Gallagher able to return from illness and suspension respectively.
Mateo Kovacic is handed his first start of the campaign after a knee issue, while Christian Pulisic is named with Raheem Sterling in attack.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shaken off a hamstring problem from midweek to retain his spot, but Mason Mount and Kai Havertz have both been dropped to the substitutes' bench.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Jorginho are the other players to miss out from the team which started the defeat to Southampton.
As for West Ham, former Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is recalled to the starting lineup to feature against his old club.
