Agent claims "too soon" to discuss Romelu Lukaku future

Romelu Lukaku's agent says that it is "too soon" to know if Chelsea will allow the striker to join Everton on a permanent basis.

The agent of Romelu Lukaku believes that it is "too soon" to know if Chelsea will allow the striker to join Everton on a permanent basis.

It remains to be seen whether or not Blues boss Jose Mourinho envisions a long-term future for Lukaku at Stamford Bridge, having sanctioned his season-long loan switch to Goodison Park in September.

The 20-year-old's representative, Christophe Henrotay, claims that his client's future hinges on whether or not the West Londoners capture a "big-name striker" this summer.

He told Footmercato.net: "For the moment, Romelu belongs to Chelsea. He has two years left on his contract. It's going to depend on Chelsea. After that, we'll see together what the best options are if Chelsea decide to let him go.

"That they want to bring in a big-name striker has been well documented. But Chelsea need lots of great strikers. And if there are too many, they'll choose to allow Romelu to leave.

"But if they think there aren't enough forwards, perhaps Romelu will say, 'I'm interested in prolonging the adventure' but it's still too soon."

The Belgium international, whose Chelsea contract expires in 2016, has hit 14 Premier League goals for the Toffees this season.
