Barcelona have reached an agreement with Sevilla for the signing of Jules Kounde.
The Frenchman has been at the centre of a transfer battle between the La Liga club and Chelsea, who had previously been favourites for the player's signature.
However, Barcelona stepped up their pursuit over the last week, and are now set to sign the defender with the club website stating that an agreement has been reached with Sevilla.
Before the latest signing can be unveiled to the Barcelona faithful, Kounde must undergo a medical, while contracts still need to be signed by all parties.
The addition of the 23-year-old continues a busy summer for Xavi's side, who have already signed Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in the current transfer window.
After spending three years at Sevilla, Kounde departs after making 133 appearances for the Andalusian club, which included a Europa League trophy in 2020.
