Chelsea are planning to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey in January, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Leon Bailey in January.

The Premier League champions have been scouting the 20-year-old for a while, according to The Sun, both in Germany and during his prior stint at Genk.

The newspaper claims that the Blues plan to lodge a bid in the region of £20m to bring the Jamaica international to Stamford Bridge, although Barcelona are also in the mix to secure his services.

Chelsea would reportedly view the winger as one for the future and would be open to loaning him back to his current club upon completing any deal.

Bailey, who has made 12 appearances for Leverkusen so far this season, is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2022.
