Inter Milan have reportedly identified Chelsea's John Obi Mikel as a potential target as they continue their search for a defensive midfielder.
Despite being a regular in the team for much of his spell at Chelsea, Mikel has dropped down the pecking order in the last 18 months due to the fine form of Nemanja Matic and he has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Mail, Inter are among the clubs interested in the Nigerian but Jose Mourinho is keen to keep the 28-year-old at the club.
The report suggests that Inter's first choice is Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo, who has also been linked with Sevilla.
Mikel moved to Chelsea from Lyn Oslo in 2006.
