Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on bringing in Gonzalo Higuain from AC Milan as part of a swap deal with Alvaro Morata.
The Blues are believed to have revived their interest in Higuain, who previously thrived under the management of Sarri during their time together at Napoli.
Morata has not had the same impact for the Italian at Stamford Bridge, though, and the out-of-form striker may be used as a makeweight in a deal to bring Higuain to West London.
Sky Sport Italia suggests that Morata would welcome a return to Serie A, where he spent two successful years with Juventus, but the fact Higuain is only technically on loan with Milan could complicate things.
The Rossoneri would need to purchase the 31-year-old outright from Juve before negotiating terms with Chelsea.
Higuain netted 36 goals in the one season that he played under Sarri, before then moving to the Allianz Stadium in 2016.
