Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly decided to step up his interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old has already made 204 appearances for PSG in all competitions, but the France international has less than six months remaining on his contract and is currently not willing to pen fresh terms.
That has resulted in strong interest from the Premier League, but it has been previously suggested that Barcelona are the frontrunners to sign the player.
However, according to France Football, Pochettino is keen to hold a phone conversation with Rabiot in a bid to tempt him into a switch to the North London outfit.
Spurs are not short of options in the middle of the park, but the acquisition of Rabiot would represent a significant coup and potentially show Pochettino's long-term commitment to the club.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with an approach for Rabiot, who could cost £13m in January or be available on a free at the end of the season.
