Glenn Murray scored a penalty nine minutes from time to hand Crystal Palace a single goal victory over managerless Bristol City this evening.
Palace's Darren Ambrose went closest to breaking the deadlock during the first half, but his chipped effort landed on the roof of the net.
It looked as though both sides were going to have to settle for a share of the spoils until Lewin Nyatanga was penalised for a foul on Jonathan Williams inside the area.
Striker Murray stepped up to convert the resultant spot-kick and move Dougie Freedman's side into the Championship play-off places.
