Yannick Bolasie scores in Crystal Palace victory over West Bromwich Albion

Yannick Bolasie scores his first goal at Selhurst Park in three years to guide Crystal Palace on their way to a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Yannick Bolasie scored his first goal at Selhurst Park in three years as Crystal Palace beat West Bromwich Albion to move within a point of leaders Manchester United.

Tony Pulis's men went close to taking an early lead at Selhurst Park when Saido Berahino managed to guide his lob over Wayne Hennessey, but his effort cleared the crossbar too.

After Bolasie fired an effort straight at Boaz Myhill, Wilfried Zaha almost helped the Eagles break the deadlock as he cut inside Chris Brunt before firing a shot narrowly wide.

Brunt then missed the target for the Baggies before Yohan Cabaye struck a well-timed volley, which flew inches past the post.

Palace finally took the lead midway through the second half as Cabaye's menacing cross found Bolasie, who headed past Myhill from close range.

The Eagles were then awarded a penalty in the dying minutes as Zaha ran towards goal before being brought down by Brunt.

Cabaye duly stepped up and sent his spot kick beyond the reach of Myhill to help Palace move into third place in the Premier League.
