Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed that the club are working on a deal to bring Sunderland striker Connor Wickham to South London.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Palace in this window, but the manager denied that a deal was close yesterday.
However, he has since admitted that a potential transfer is progressing, although didn't say if it was edging towards a positive conclusion.
He is quoted as saying by the Croydon Advertiser: "Connor is somebody we feel will be great for the club and we're trying to get that across the line. I don't know what the progress is for that at the moment."
Wickham has scored 15 goals for the Black Cats in four seasons.
