Crystal Palace are reportedly planning to make an approach for AS Monaco striker Guido Carrillo during the January transfer window.

Monaco striker Guido Carrillo has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Crystal Palace.

Palance have improved since Roy Hodgson's arrival at Selhurst Park, but although they have put together a six-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, Christian Benteke remains without a goal.

With no backup for the Belgian forward, Hodgson will strengthen in attack during January and according to PA, Carrillo has appeared on his shortlist.

Carrillo is currently in his third season at Stade Louis II and 15 goals have been scored in 64 matches in Ligue 1, but the 26-year-old has made just two starts in France's top flight during the current campaign.

The report suggests that the Argentine is valued in the region of £10m, a figure which the Eagles would likely be prepared to meet given their current predicament at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

One factor not in Palace's favour is Carrillo's recent form, with Monaco potentially wanting to keep the player with five goals having been scored in all competitions since the start of November.
