Glenn Hoddle open to England return

Glenn Hoddle says that he is "available" to become the new England manager following Fabio Capello's departure.

Glenn Hoddle has declared himself "available" for the England managerial job but believes that the Football Association will be looking elsewhere.

The 54-year-old enjoyed a stint as Three Lions boss until getting sacked in 1999 following a controversial newspaper interview. However, Hoddle has claimed that he would be willing to step back into the coaching role.

"I would be available but I don't think there is any chance of that," Hoddle told talkSPORT.

"I was very frustrated [to lose the England job]. There are not many people who have experienced that job and are young enough to say you could actually go and do it again.

"At the end of the day my record on the football front stands up. A win percentage there of 61%."

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has become the overwhelming favourite to take the helm following Fabio Capello's resignation yesterday.
