Phil Jagielka: 'Facing Nikica Jelavic will be strange'

Everton captain Phil Jagielka says that it will be "a bit strange" to play again former teammate Nikica Jelavic.

Phil Jagielka has admitted that it will be "a bit strange" to face former Everton teammate Nikica Jelavic in the final game of the season.

The striker moved to Hull City after two seasons with the Toffees during the January transfer window.

The Everton captain told the club's website: "It will be a bit strange. Jela was here for a couple years and was a great part of the team.

"It was sad to see him go but we all understood that he needed to go and play football for his future and World Cup dream. Hopefully he will be playing in the Croatia team in Brazil.

"But we would like to finish with a win. We have had a bit of an unfortunate run of results these last few weeks and we would like to finish on a high."

Jelavic has scored four goals in 15 appearances since joining Hull.
