Roberto Martinez plays down Romelu Lukaku injury fears

Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists that Romelu Lukaku is "fine" after the striker took a blow to the head during Saturday's 3-2 victory at West Ham United.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that Romelu Lukaku is "fine" after the striker took a blow to the head in Saturday's win at West Ham United.

Lukaku suffered the problem when he nodded home the winning goal during the 3-2 victory in the Premier League.

"Romelu is fine," Sky Sports News quotes Martinez as saying. "We were in yesterday and the reaction has been great. The medical department are very happy with him, so there are no concerns with Romelu.

"We will keep on top of him but there is no reaction. He trained and he is ready to carry on as normal."

Lukaku is currently on a season-long loan spell at Goodison Park from Chelsea.
