Everton and Aston Villa are allegedly among the frontrunners to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson later in 2020.

Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Everton and Aston Villa.

Having established himself as a key man at the Ligue 1 giants, Sanson has naturally been linked with a future move to the Premier League.

While Wolverhampton Wanderers were said to be in the running for the Frenchman last summer, L'Equipe claims that Everton and Villa are now regarded as the frontrunners.

In the case of Villa, they would need to avoid relegation from the Premier League in order to afford a player who may cost in the region of £30m.

Sanson, who has just over two years left on his contract, has contributed five goals and four assists in France's top flight this season.
