Aston Villa have reportedly identified Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez as a potential summer signing.
The 22-year-old has spent the beginning of his professional career at the Stade Velodrome, scoring five goals from 132 appearances in all competitions.
However, with just over a year remaining on the Frenchman's contract, there is inevitably interest from other clubs.
According to reports in Spain, Villa are contemplating launching a bid for Lopez, who could be available for a fee in the region of £10m.
Much will depend on whether the West Midlands outfit are able to avoid relegation from the Premier League once football resumes after the coronavirus outbreak.
Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla have also been linked with a move for the player.
