Vincenzo Montella has admitted that he would have been furious had Fiorentina slipped to defeat in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Dynamo Kiev.
Khouma Babacar scored a crucial away goal in stoppage time to earn Fiorentina a 1-1 draw in Ukraine, and Montella believes that his side's performance means that a loss would have been unfair.
"We created a number of chances, and I was ready to respond to defeat with a degree of rage," the Viola boss told reporters.
"We played a good match in what is a difficult moment for us. We demonstrated that we are a club with soul, but we also have to do well in the last 20 metres of the pitch.
"But we're happy. Losing 2-0 to a goal on a counter-attack would have been a joke."
Fiorentina will host Dynamo in the second leg next Thursday.
